From the first quote to the finished surface — here's a step-by-step guide to what happens when Tru-Pro installs your new driveway.
What to Expect When Getting a New Driveway
If you've never had a driveway installed before, the process can seem daunting. This guide walks you through every stage — from the initial enquiry to driving on your brand-new surface.
Step 1: Free, No-Obligation Quote
The process begins with a free site visit. One of our team will come to your property, assess the existing surface and ground conditions, take measurements and discuss your preferences — material, colour, drainage, edging and so on. We'll then provide a written quote with a fixed price — no hidden extras.
Step 2: Scheduling
Once you've accepted the quote, we'll agree a start date. We'll give you a clear timeline for the work so you can plan accordingly — including how long your driveway will be out of use.
Step 3: Site Preparation
On the day, the team arrives with all necessary equipment. The first task is preparing the site — which may involve removing the existing surface, excavating to the required depth and installing any new drainage. This groundworks stage is critical: a properly prepared base is what makes a driveway last.
Step 4: Installation
With the base prepared, your chosen surface material is installed. For resin, the aggregate and binder are mixed and laid in a single continuous pour. For block paving or tarmac, layers are built up carefully and compacted. The process varies by material, but all our work is carried out to manufacturer and industry specifications.
Step 5: Finishing and Clean-Up
Edging, drainage channels, dropped kerbs and any border features are completed. The site is then thoroughly cleaned — we leave your property as tidy as we found it, often tidier.
Step 6: Aftercare Advice
Before we leave, we'll give you clear aftercare instructions. For resin, this includes how long to wait before driving on the surface. For tarmac, we'll advise on the initial curing period. We also provide details of any warranties or guarantees applicable to your installation.
Step 7: Enjoy Your New Driveway!
That's it. A typical driveway installation is completed in one to three days, with minimal disruption. We're proud of every job we do, and we're confident you'll love the result.
